From November 8th to 11th, the 28th International Conference on Molecular Medicine (ISMM28) was grandly opened at GIBI, Guangzhou Science City. More than 200 experts in the field of molecular medicine, oncology experts, clinical pharmacists and scholars of integrative medicine from all over the world gathered together to discuss the cutting-edge trends of molecular medicine, clinical application practices of oncology and new opportunities for academic achievements publication.
The conference was jointly sponsored by Spandidos Publishing House, Guangdong Cancer Rehabilitation Society, and Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, organized and planned by Yujia Medical and Yiwei, and jointly organized by Yujia Medical and South China Publishing (Guangdong) Co., Ltd. Guangzhou International Business Incubator, School of Foreign Chinese Languages of Southern Medical University, GAPS, Teno Technology, Yunqi Medical Language and other institutions gave strong support to the conference.

Speeches at the opening ceremony
Professor Demetrios A. Spandidos, founder of Spandidos Publishing House and academician of the European Academy of Sciences, Professor Peng Jun, vice president of Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, co-organizer Professor Peng Jun (video speech), Dr. Ren Sheng, president of Guangdong Cancer Rehabilitation Society, and Hu Chun, deputy general manager of Guangzhou International Business Incubator, co-organizer, delivered opening speeches for the conference, and Dr. Liao Junhua, founder of Yujia Medical, the organizer of the conference, presided over the morning agenda of the conference.
In his speech at the conference, Professor Demetrios A. Spandidos emphasized the contribution of molecular medicine to the medical civilization of the East and the West, and he believed that today, modern Chinese medicine has integrated Western medicine in many aspects, and constantly updated the knowledge system based on the breakthrough of molecular medicine, and modern methodology has applied these new achievements to contemporary research and traditional Chinese medicine. Through academic paper cooperation, scientific research cooperation and academic conference exchanges with Western scientists, Chinese scientists have promoted China to the international frontier in the field of molecular medicine.

Agenda of the General Assembly
In terms of the agenda setting of the conference, the conference combined with international frontier hotspots such as cancer rehabilitation and the integration of Chinese and Western medicine, and set up topics such as frontiers in the field, publication of tumor rehabilitation and molecular medicine achievements, molecular medicine and modern Chinese medicine, focusing on SCI article publication, journal publishing, tumor treatment and rehabilitation, industry-university-research application, integration of traditional Chinese and Western medicine/traditional Chinese medicine treatment and other fields.
The organizers of the conference invited Professor Demetrios A. Spandidos, founder and editor-in-chief of Spandidos Publishing House, Li Hong, business development manager of Taylor & Francis Group in China, Dr. Tang Zhu, chief scientist of Yujia Medical, Lv Lei, director and head of Shanxi Medical and Health Media Group, and Huang Peng, deputy director of the editorial department of Guangxi Medicine, to share their views on issues such as SCI article publication and journal publishing.
In particular, the theme discussions of "The Future of International Biomedical Journals: Innovation and Collaboration" and "Challenges of SCI Journal Article Publishing" were set up to discuss with the participants the cooperation and innovation strategies of journal publishing at home and abroad, as well as the issues of Al-assisted SCI article writing.
Oncology Treatment & Rehabilitation
In the field of cancer treatment and rehabilitation, Shang Changzhen, director of the Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery of Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, analyzed the current treatment status of liver cancer and looked forward to the future treatment development.
Professor Massimo Libra, Academician of the European Academy of Sciences, led three people, including Luca Falzone, to discuss the key role of diet and nutrition in cancer prevention.
Professor Luzhe Sun of the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio analyzed the multiomics analysis and molecular targets of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
Professor Wei Zhu from the Institute of Neurological Research, State University of New York Old Westbury, USA, shared the role of endogenous morphine signaling mechanism in anti-neurodegeneration.
Professor Russel J. Reiter of the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio explores the role of melatonin in cellular mitochondria and its potential in the prevention and treatment of a variety of diseases.
Professor Adel K. El-Naggar of the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center gave us an in-depth understanding of the evolution and molecular heterogeneity of SACC in the course of salivary gland adenoid cystic carcinoma: evolution, heterogeneity and targeted therapy, and actively discussed with the guests to overcome the problem of treatment resistance and recurrence of this tumor.
In the field of industrial transformation of the biomedical industry, Hu Chun, deputy general manager of Guangzhou International Business Incubator, Wang Qianyi, head of the investment promotion and operation department of Guangzhou Kejin Group, and Professor Tao Hongxun of Jiangsu University, the first two interpreted from the perspective of biomedical industry policy and the vision of biomedical development base, and the latter analyzed the application prospect of traditional Chinese medicine in disease treatment.
In addition, the participants visited innovative enterprises and medical institutions such as VectorBuilder, Yujia International Institute of Biomedical Sciences, and Guangzhou Taihe Cancer Hospital for three days, providing participants with on-site visits to the current development status of the biomedical industry.
In the field of integrative medicine/TCM treatment, Professor Lin Wei of Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Professor Nathaniel Weygant of Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Professor Dongfeng Qu of the Health Science Center of the University of Oklahoma, Researcher Shao Cui of the Department of Oncology of the Affiliated Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Guangzhou Medical University, Associate Professor Zhang Zhuqing of Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Associate Professor Huang Bin of the Institute of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine of Fujian University of Chinese Medicine shared the entry points of Chinese medicine and Western medicine in the treatment of cancer and tumors. To explore the integration of traditional Chinese and Western medicine and the new ideas of traditional Chinese medicine treatment.
On the basis of the rich agenda, Professor Liao Ning, Administrative Director of the Department of Surgery and Breastography of Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital, Professor Vasiliki Georgakopoulou of the National and Capodistria University of Athens, Greece, Professor Ioannis Michalopoulos, Chief Scientist of the Biomedical Research Foundation of the Academy of Athens, Professor Zhao Qi of the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Macau, Associate Professor Georgios Z. Papadakis of the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Technology, Professor Ahmed Ali Al-Qahtani of King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center in Saudi Arabia shared the cutting-edge trends of biomedicine with us on the medical application of Al technology and the results of emerging antibody therapies in the treatment of tumors.
At the same time, in terms of pharmacy and medical management, under the chairmanship of Director Mai Haiyan of the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, Director Wei Li of the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University interpreted the expert consensus on the co-management of stable COPD medicine, and Chen Yuming, Chief of the Medical Department of Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital, made a wonderful sharing on "Overall Layout, Quality and Efficiency-Exploring a New Road for Hospital Fine Management". How do you view the current flow of innovative anti-tumor drugs and DTP drugs to improve patient accessibility? Where are the risk points? Topics such as how to manage scientifically (from the perspective of pharmacy and medical management, such as administrative support and supervision) were discussed.
During the conference, there were also oral presentations by young researchers, including Yang Yuping and Shi Jinsen from Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Yu Feikai from Hangzhou Medical College, and Professor Demetrios A. Spandidos and Ioannis Mitsionis presented awards to the winners.
The conference received nearly 100 poster presentations from all over the world, among which Jun Chen Qian from Long Island, New York, USA, Georgies Z. Papadakis from Greece and Honglin An from Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine were selected as excellent posters by the organizing committee of the conference, and Professor Demetrios A. Spandidos and Professor Cao Zhiyun presented awards to the winners.
Dr. Liao Junhua, the founder of Yujia Medicine, said that the conference invited experts to interpret the cutting-edge trends of molecular medicine in the field of tumor treatment, and at the same time discussed the innovative combination points of molecular medicine, integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine in the fields of cancer treatment and tumor rehabilitation in the publication of academic achievements.
